9 Instagram-worthy Spots in the East

Despite being a small city, Singapore offers numerous attractions and beautiful photo spots. Staying at our luxury urban resort, Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore, that’s located in the eastern part of the city? It’s time to step up your Instagram game with the following 9 Instagram-worthy spots in Singapore’s eastern precinct.

#1 - Koon Seng Road Peranakan Houses
The Joo Chiat/Katong area is rich in Peranakan culture. Koon Seng Road, situated within this Peranakan neighbourhood, is lined with colourful shophouses originally built in the 1920s where Peranakan Chinese used to live. The vibrant colours and architecture of the buildings attract both locals and overseas visitors. You'll definitely get a perfect shot for Instagram here.

#2 - Jewel Changi Airport
There is plenty of picturesque photo spots at Jewel Changi Airport, from the iconic HSBC Rain Vortex to the Shiseido Forest Valley to the Petal Garden to the Canopy Bridge. You can discover a wondrous world where nature meets retail while capturing as many stunning sights as possible on your camera.

#3 - Bougainvillea Garden at East Coast Park
The Bougainvillea Garden at East Coast Park is a gorgeous place for photography, especially when the bougainvilleas are in full bloom. Ascend the three-storey-high tower for a panoramic view of the Bougainvillea Garden against the backdrop of the vast ocean. You don't have to whip your hair back and forth for your pictures; the wind will do it for you!

#4 - Pulau Ubin
If you’re into nature photography or prefer a rustic feel for your photos, head to Pulau Ubin. The Chek Jawa Wetlands, at the Eastern tip of this island, features a bungalow known as House No. 1. The brown brick building makes a good photography backdrop. Other photo spots at this part of the island include the Sensory Trail and the Balai Quarry. The Puaka Hill, on the other hand, is ideal for nature photography.

#5 - The Red House
As its name suggests, the Red House at Katong has an eye-catching bright red facade. You won't miss it when you're exploring this area. The Red House once housed the defunct Katong Bakery & Confectionery which operated from 1925 to 2003. The Wangs Cafe took over from 2016 but its current occupants are Micro Bakery & Kitchen.

#6 - Changi Point Coastal Walk
The “Sunset Walk” along the Changi Point Boardwalk is one of the best places to watch the sunset in Singapore. Soak in the tranquil nature and get an unobstructed view of the sunset over the water. We’re pretty sure your pictures will turn out to be dreamy.

#7 - Bay East Garden
The Bay East Garden offers views of Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer. Imagine being able to capture all these iconic attractions in one frame! Moreover, crossing the bridge brings you to Marina Barrage where you get more photo opportunities.

#8 - Singapore Sports Hub
The Singapore Sports Hub is a state-of-the-art entertainment and lifestyle hub. Although you will not be able to enter the National Stadium outside of major events for vibrant pictures of the red and white seats, you can still get Instagram-worthy pictures at the public areas. There’s a colourful running track along the perimeter of the stadium.

#9 - IKEA
If you’re looking for a place with many photo spots where you can change into multiple outfits, you can consider heading to IKEA. This huge home furnishing store features many different showrooms.
